2D Animator / Video Editor
About the Job
We are looking for a 2D Animator & Video Editor to join our in-house team. You will be passionate about making factual content and telling stories for a wide range of clients, as well as helping to expand our own original programming. Whether it’s an advert for a household brand, a documentary for a broadcaster, quick turnaround social media content for a festival or interactive training videos for a major retailer, every day here is different.
We’re looking for a confident, reliable and creative mind. You’ll have a passion for creating 2D motion graphics in Adobe After Effects and be a proficient editor using Adobe Premiere Pro. Having a good working knowledge of popular camera systems and colour grading processes too, you’ll push the boundaries of linear editing and always be looking for emerging techniques to make our work stand out.
You will be professional, friendly and approachable, with good communication skills in order to liaise with colleagues and clients. We’re looking for somebody with attention to detail and who’s driven by making work that they can be proud of.
2D Animation
Working with our Creative Lead using assets created in house or from the client to create simple motion graphics for productions. These may include kinetic text for a quick social video or an animated graph for a factual project.
Editing
Working alongside the production team to take edits from rushes to a final asset. This could differ from project to project, it could be taking a rough edit and giving it a polish, or starting from scratch - usually you’ll only be editing projects where we’ve also been working on motion graphics too.
Some of the characteristics we’re looking for:
At least 2 years in a similar professional role with a strong portfolio of work.
A passion for filmmaking, particularly documentaries.
Time-focused being able to deliver high quality work on time.
An excellent working knowledge of Adobe Premiere and Adobe After Effects along with popular plug-ins.
An ability to edit together a storyline to a set storyboard / brief, being able to deliver a high quality, fully coloured and sound mixed master.
An understanding and keen interest in production technology and techniques - we’re always looking to push the boundaries on our projects.
Going the extra mile - we go above and beyond for our clients to produce the content their audience will love.
“Jack & Jill of all trades” - as a small team we need malleable people who are willing to contribute in all areas of the business from filming, editing to tidying our gear up and making coffee.
Here’s what we’ll do for you:
Learning never stops - there may be things in the above spec you don’t feel you’re proficient at yet. We’re here to help. Training will be provided for the right candidate to ensure you’re always at the top of your game. If there is specific training you’d like to go on to improve your skills let us know.
Passion projects - learning and development is about doing, we understand that. We will provide all company resources to support you to produce the content you want to produce.
An awesome environment you are directly involved in - we’re not a big team, you can make a big difference and touch every part of the production process if you want to.
